Estate Planning:

Introducing Visual Estate Plan Summaries! πŸŽ‰

Matt Morris03-07-2023

Tens of millions of estate plans are a disaster waiting to happen.

They are often out of date and contain issues that can cause chaos for loved ones in the future. Relationships change, as do health and wealth, and plans are frequently unfunded. Out-of-date plans can cost your clients loved ones tens of thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours of additional time, strain relationships, and leave a tarnished legacy.

If you’re not reviewing your clients’ existing estate plans, then no one is!

Reviewing estate plans can be a hassle. Our team has been offering Estate Plan Summaries for years, which involves breaking down an existing estate plan and extracting all the relevant information that advisors should help their clients reconsider. However, we have never been entirely satisfied with the output of the information we provided in a word document format… Until now!

We are excited to announce the launch of Visual Estate Plan Summaries! πŸŽ‰

This feature is designed to provide your clients with an easy-to-understand and visually appealing representation of their estate plan.

How Does it Work?

The visual estate plan summary is a new addition to our software that provides clients with a comprehensive overview of their existing estate plan. The feature visually represents your client’s estate plan and highlights the key components of the plan, such as trustees, beneficiaries, and distribution preferences.

To use this feature, simply log into your account and select Plan Summary when creating a new Plan. From there, upload the client’s existing estate plan and we’ll send you back this Plan Summary within 5 business days.

This summary is available on all Revocable and Will Based Estate Plans uploaded into Encore and for $150.

Benefits of the Visual Estate Plan Summary

We believe that this is the simplest and most elegant way to understand an existing estate plan document that your client will ever receive. We want you to take credit for it by providing it to your client on your letterhead. This should serve as the cover page on the estate plan they provided you.

Providing this Visual Summary to your client is a huge opportunity for you to uncover substantial issues that they are likely unaware of and differentiate your firm in an incredibly valuable way. We typically find that 30% of estate plans we have reviewed need to be updated.

Additionally, The Visual Estate Plan Summary is an easy way to generate referrals. You must make it clear to your client that they have to provide this summary to every friend and family member named in it. When the recipients receive it, they will greatly appreciate the easy-to-understand visual summary of the estate plan they are named in. This will help them recognize their need for an estate plan, or their need to have an old estate plan reviewed. Your clients will describe the help they received from you and naturally send them your way.

Game Changing to Estate Planning

Overall, we believe that this is a game-changer for estate planning. There is no more need to dig through a long document to find the decisions the document contains. We are here to support you in taking credit for delivering this one-of-a-kind experience to your clients!

We are committed to providing our clients with the tools and resources they need to create and maintain a comprehensive estate plan, and we believe that this new feature will help us achieve that goal. If you have any questions or feedback about this or any feature, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
